What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is from 2pm to 5pm. Please do let us know in advance if you want to check in later than this so that we can arrange a late check-in for you.
Check out is by 10am, but if you would like to check out a little later please let us know and this can sometimes be arranged for an extra fee. If you would like to leave your bags with us before/after your stay please let us know, we are happy to help. Reception hours are 9am – 5pm.
Do you have parking?
Owing to our central location, parking is $10 per night, it is first come first served basis and we do not reserve parking. Guests can pay for parking for their first night on the day they arrive. We do not take parking payments in advance. This is to avoid any issues if you leave the car park, come back and the car park is full. We require guests to pay only when they have a space so we are not over-charging, and to avoid any disappointment.
Is there any lockable storage?
Yes! All of our lodges have slightly different facilities, however most of our amazing bunk beds have large under-bed storage lockers big enough to fit a large backpack or medium-sized suitcase. You must provide your own padlock (we sell these at reception) & all luggage is stored at the owner’s risk. All of our private rooms are accessed via key.
Are we allowed to bring alcohol?
You are welcome to drink alcohol that you have purchased in the common areas until 10.30pm. Please do not take alcohol into the bedrooms and we ask you to be mindful of our other guests – we enjoy a drink or two but we are not a party lodge!
Is smoking allowed?
Haka Lodge Queenstown has a strict no-smoking policy throughout the lodge – this includes e-cigarettes and vaping. You are welcome to smoke outside, but we ask that you smoke away from the building to be considerate to our other guests and ensure cigarette butts end up in ashtrays or bins.
Why do you need my credit card during booking?
We require credit cards as a security measure. Please note, we will charge this if you fail to show up for your booking, leave without paying, you cause any damage, or cause the fire alarm to go off (it is a $1,500 charge!). Please be careful around heaters and take care when cooking.
Do I need to bring my sleeping bag or pillowcase?
No. We provide all bedding. Please do not bring your own sleeping bag or linen. Just relax in our clean sheets and blankets and enjoy the comfiest hostel mattresses in Queenstown! If you do bring your own sleeping bag or linen we will look after this for you and it will be returned to you upon checkout.
